Greenwich, CT
Trails:
Open Today Sunrise - Sunset
This is one of seven sanctuaries managed by the ԹϺ in Greenwich. Mildred Bedard Caldwell left this 22-acre woodland sanctuary to the local Greenwich ԹϺ Center chapter. The main trail crosses Strickland Brook by a boardwalk before leading into deciduous woodland that was farmland until about 1900. Remnants of farming activity include the stone enclosure known as Pugh’s Pig Pen. Two large stone boulders on the upland trail are “erratics” deposited by the glaciers that covered the area 12,000 years ago. A trail leads directly into the 62-acre Montgomery Pinetum owned by the Town of Greenwich.
Hours: Open Daily, Sunrise to Sunset
Location: The entrance is on Bible Street, 100 yards south of the intersection of Bible Street and Cat Rock Road. Parking is by the side of the road on Bible Street.
