White-winged Parakeet
At a Glance
             Native to South America, this parakeet became common around Miami and elsewhere in southern Florida during the 1960s and 1970s after large numbers escaped from captivity. It has become less numerous there since the early 1980s. A few also live in a feral state in California.

Description
     9" (23 cm). A small parakeet with a pointed tail. Mostly pale green, with dark blue wingtips, yellow coverts in wings. Big white patches on trailing edges of wings are most obvious in flight.
