WASHINGTON —“This bill represents an encouraging bipartisan effort that recognizes the need to prioritize water projects the same way we give credence to roads and bridge projects in infrastructure building,” said Sarah Greenberger, senior vice president for conservation policy at �ԹϺ���, after the Senate Natural Resources Committee today.

“This bill champions restoration efforts in important places for birds and people like the Everglades, Great Lakes and the lower Mississippi River. We’d like to thank Senators Barrasso, Carper, Inhofe and Cardin for their leadership on this bill,” Greenberger added.

A key provision in today’s Act directs the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to consider natural infrastructure alternatives in projects meant to reduce flood, storm or hurricane risks. �ԹϺ���’s natural highlighted the importance of considering natural infrastructure on our coasts.

Following the devastation from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, �ԹϺ��� staff published a of the storms’ impacts to critical bird and wildlife habitat.
