WASHINGTON — “The Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act are two of the most important conservation laws in the United States, and �ԹϺ��� strongly supports their fair and lawful enforcement in the name of protecting America’s birds,” said David O’Neill, �ԹϺ���’s chief conservation officer, in response to a domestic energy report released by the Department of the Interior that includes key bird conservation laws in .

“Simply put, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act is the reason we have the birds we have today. We cannot go back to the days before the �ԹϺ��� Society helped shepherd this law through Congress, when birds were being slaughtered with abandon.

"This report by the Department of the Interior is a wholesale attack on both wildlife and public lands across the country. An overwhelming majority of Americans support commonsense laws that protect America’s wildlife, and �ԹϺ��� will engage our one million members to defend birds and the places they need.”
