Registration for our 2026 sessions will be opening in the new year! Keep an eye on our emails, , and for more information.

The Greenwich ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Center is excited to offer our Summer Nature Day Camp in 2026! Each week, campers at Greenwich ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Center’s Summer Nature Day Camp explore nature in a fun, safe environment within the 285 acres of our nature sanctuary. ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ camp fosters curiosity through outdoor discovery that helps campers develop an understanding of the natural world. These unique experiences and adventures can grow into a lifelong appreciation for our environment.

This year, we are shaking things up with 7 uniquely themed weeks of fun-filled activities, outdoor experiences, and adventure! Each theme focuses on a different aspect of nature, conservation, and the environment around us.

Our camp days are filled with a variety of activities—including hiking, pond and stream exploration, crafts, nature-themed games, live animal interactions, and birding. Our staff is selected for their experience and skills working with youth and for their interest in local ecology and natural history. All staff must pass background checks and are required to hold current CPR and First Aid certifications, making camp a safe place to learn about and experience nature.

Hours and Length

Each session of camp runs from Monday through Friday. Camp days are 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Camp Age Groups

We will have two camp group cohorts this year, sorted by age.

Explorers will learn all about ecosystems, ecology, science and nature while being introduced to different habitats, interacting with our animal ambassadors, playing in nature during wildlife-based games, making arts and crafts that help them engage with and understand the natural world surrounding them, and learning small ways they can help protect birds and places they need.

Adventurers wander all over our 285-acre nature sanctuary, design their own nature-based games, and participate in STEM focused lessons relating to our weekly themes, building upon the knowledge they already have. Join us if you want to discover firsthand what an owl eats, learn how flight evolved differently between birds and bats, forage through the stream looking for aquatic critters, or venture into the far reaches of our woods and trails all while having an amazing camp experience!

Camp Blocks

Each of our seven camp sessions features a different, exciting theme!

Start your summer adventure with Nature Navigators, a week devoted to exploring ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s diverse ecosystems! Campers will journey through forests, wetlands, and meadows as they uncover natural mysteries, solve clues, and discover the wildlife that calls each habitat home. It’s the perfect kickoff to a season of outdoor exploration.

A backpacking-themed week where campers learn the basics of hiking safely and responsibly. From packing essentials and Leave No Trace principles to navigating trails and shelter building, young adventurers will gain the confidence to explore the outdoors with care.

Get ready for Wetland Wonders, a week filled with muddy boots, critter-catching, and watery adventures! Campers will meet the critters that call our wetlands home and discover what makes these habitats so magical and essential.

Become a Backyard Biologist and learn how to study nature wherever you are! Campers will practice observation skills, use tools like hand lenses and field guides, and even contribute to community science projects that help track local wildlife.

Take flight with Avian Adaptations, a week devoted to exploring the incredible traits that help birds survive and thrive. Through hands-on activities, bird walks, and close-up observations, campers will uncover the remarkable strategies birds use to find food, build nests, migrate, and more.

Gear up for Insect Investigators, an outdoor adventure into the world beneath our feet and above our heads. Campers will embark on bug hunts, explore pollinator hotspots, investigate insect homes, and uncover the surprising superpowers that help insects survive in every habitat.

Gear up for Plant Pathfinders, a plant-powered adventure across the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ landscape! Campers will trek through forests, wetlands, and meadows as they learn to identify plant species, uncover plant superpowers, and map out the ecosystems they call home.
